Because we are going to be thrust in to the epicenter of winged bliss we decided we had better rededicate ourselves to bringing you our adventures in finding the best wings around.
As a bit of a warm up we went to a bar called Bumpy's in Puyallup. As far as the bar goes it is a small one with classic dive bar qualities. Pull tabs, darts (with little room to play), friendly and fast service. When reviewing the menu you will notice that there are boneless wings, and no real wings on the menu. Usually I wouldn't waste my time on such fare as I am a purist when it comes to eating the appendages of my fine feathered friends. So you must be thinking that these must be the best boneless wings ever or there wouldn't be anything to write about. You would be wrong again. Stop trying to guess as i am going to tell you. On Saturdays, Bumpy's boneless wings are only $4. You get a pile of them. They are just OK. Covered in Frank's, which isn't a bad thing, and dipped in ranch they are a tasty treat.
I would/will definitely go back to Bumpy's, probably not for the boneless chicken chunks covered in hot sauce. But the beer is cold. The service was fast. The quesadilla we had was good and the pizza looked amazing. All in all a decent dive for devouring delectables.
Hi, its Jen! Its great to be back. We are so unbelievably excited to attend the National Buffalo Chicken Wing Festival in Buffalo, NY this year. If I had known about it sooner, we would have been there on our honeymoon!
I had never been to Bumpy's. We decided we were up for an adventure so we headed out. Immediately when I got there I had to go to the bathroom. So while Jason ordered us drinks I ventured to the bathrooms. I was a bit confused trying to figure out if I was the "sit down" or "stand up" bathroom, but once I figured it out I was relieved... literally. However, while I was in the bathroom I noticed on the wall that there were $4.00 boneless buffalo wings! Although I prefer chicken wings with bones, I thought we could give them a try for $4.o0.
I was not impressed. There were a lot of them, and if I had drank more beer prior to eating them, then they might have been good. They tasted to me like they were from the frozen section of the local grocery store, and then topped off with franks red hot sauce...and not a lot of it. The "wings" did come with paper towels though, which is a big plus for us!
I will go back to Bumpy's, just not for their "wings".
